Torin-Sifan, the producer of energy efficient fan technology to the European air movement industry, was shortlisted as a finalist for the Manufacturing in Action award at this year’s Manufacturer MX Awards 2015 (TMMX), which took place on 26 November at the ICC in Birmingham.

The company reached the final of the awards following its significant investment in Swindon this year with the launch of its new state-of-the-art EC Manufacturing and Technology Centre at Pagoda Park in Swindon.

Formed in 2015 the TMMX Awards is the merger of two of the manufacturing industry’s leading national awards programmes: The Manufacturer of the Year Awards, run by The Manufacturer magazine, and the Manufacturing Excellence (MX) Awards, run by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE). Dedicated to encouraging and promoting competitive manufacturing in the UK, TMMX celebrates the very best in the industry.

Within the awards ‘Manufacturing in Action’ is a key category which recognises areas such as investment in employees, service excellence, R&D investment, and process efficiency.

Torin-Sifan’s nomination came as a result of a site visit by The Manufacturer magazine during the opening of its EC Manufacturing & Technology Centre by Justin Tomlinson MP in February 2015. At the opening the company demonstrated how it has heavily invested in its people, products and infrastructure resulting in a positive, productive work environment, world-class products and excellent customer service.
