The Thermal Insulation Contractors Association (TICA) has joined the National Specialist Contractors Council (NSCC) this month.
Established in 1959, TICA represents the industrial hot and cold insulation industry with 153 Specialist Contractor members. It is committed to using the combined strength of its members to promote how correctly applied thermal insulation saves energy and cost for clients and can also help to lower carbon dioxide emissions.
Following the addition of TICA, there are now 30 organisations under the NSCC umbrella, which together represent more than 7,000 businesses engaged in the commercial and domestic sectors in construction of the built environment. This gives NSCC a strong voice on the issues that matter to specialist contractors, including fair payment, pre-qualification, training and sustainability. NSCC was able to use its influence most recently on the development of the new Construction Supply Chain Payment Charter which sets out a commitment to 30-day payment terms and no retention by 2025.
NSCC chief executive Suzannah Nichol MBE said: 'We are delighted that TICA have become the 30th member of NSCC. It demonstrates not only the value of the representation, benefits and support that we provide but also ensures that NSCC becomes an even more effective lobbying voice on behalf of the specialist sector.'
