Tesco offers opportunities for gas engineers

Tesco has announced it is opening up its installer network to a wider list of approved Gas Safe engineers following the launch of a new gas boiler replacement and heating installation service.
Enact Energy, the Cornish-based firm that manages the Tesco Home Efficiency Service, has launched an expression of interest for firms of heating engineers who wish to become part of this new nationwide service.

Tesco customers who find out about the service through in-store leaflets, links from the Tesco.com website and as a result of wider marketing activities contact Enact Energy via a Freephone number and receive basic information and indicative pricing initially.

If the customer wishes to proceed, Enact then engages an approved Gas Safe contractor to visit the home to undertake an inspection and to ascertain exactly what works are required.

This information is then used to provide the customer with a written quote with Enact managing all paper work including invoicing and warranties once the customers goes ahead.

Daryl Govan from Enact, himself a Registered Gas Safe Engineer, said: 'Enact has been helping UK householders to cut their energy bills for over 16 years and we have always prided ourselves in working in partnership with small to medium sized contractors across the UK.

'We are ideally looking for companies with at least five registered Gas Safe engineers to work on the Tesco Home Efficiency Service and all engineers must be employed by the company, subcontracting is not allowed, to maintain a high quality service for Tesco customers. We are keen to hear from companies from across Britain but are particularly interested in hearing from contractors based in Scotland, Wales, and the North West of England.'

Contractors have until March 9 to contact Enact but companies are being urged to get in touch sooner as they will be considered for inclusion on the network before this date, subject to passing the required approval process.

Companies interested in expressing an interest should in the first instance send an email outlining details regarding the size of their business including number of employed Gas Safe engineers to katy.beach@enactenergy.com
