Tender hand extended by Plumb Center's commercial arm

Heating and plumbing supplier Plumb Center is rolling out 38 centres of excellence nationwide this year to help commercial plumbing firms find everything they need under one roof, including help tendering for work.
Each centre of excellence will have a commercial stock holding and staff who will liaise with suppliers to get the products at competitive prices in branch or online. The company, part of the Wolseley group, also has a team of estimators to offer technical and practical advice to commercial customers. They can prepare quotations for tendering purposes, work from architects plans and specifications or a bill of quantities.

The company has appointed development director Richard Virr to head up Plumb Center's new commercial team.

'The needs of the commercial plumbing business and the skills required to service those needs are different to the domestic market and we want to ensure that Plumb Center's commercial centres of excellence are able to meet and exceed those needs,' said Richard Virr.

He added: 'We want to help our commercial customers win more business. Our estimators, who are experts in their field, and fully conversant with the current standards and regulations required to provide safe and reliable systems whatever the application, will help customers to submit a professional, comprehensive and accurate tender document.'

Carbon reductions for northern arena

Rinnai hot water systems are projected to produce ‘significant’ carbon reductions at a huge indoor arena in the North of England. The company has produced a designed system based on its R290 high-temperature heat pump. This arena regularly hosts large events such as concerts, conferences, theatre plays, exhibitions, live music and other conventions – so the site must have an energy efficient and carbon-reducing hot water system to achieve NetZero.
