Stelrad Radiators has achieved Achilles Building Confidence Level 5 accreditation and has been shortlisted for the SHP IOSH national safety awards in the Best Health and Safety Achievement in Manufacturing category.
Achilles accreditation is aimed at buyers who want to use suppliers they can trust. Stelrad has undergone a rigorous assessment process to attain the accreditation.
The assessment process investigates in detail all elements of Stelrad's management systems from health, safety and environment, to human resources and purchasing arrangements.
The Achilles process offers customers automatic assurance that Stelrad manages its business ethically and that it is a secure business for its stakeholders.
Stelrad has also been chosen as a finalist for the IOSH SHP National Safety Awards Best Health and Safety Achievement in Manufacturing category. It is the second year that the company has been selected in the top five businesses in the UK for the award.
Neil Land, health and safety manager at Stelrad, said: 'We're delighted to have got this far in the awards again. With over two million radiators a year coming out of our factories, and with the complex manufacturing equipment on our sites, we are constantly looking at our health and safety performance and the measures which we can take to improve.'
