Sentinel takes social housing sector by storm

Sentinel, international provider of best practice products and services for the protection of heating and hot water systems, has doubled its market share in the social housing sector in just six months.

Since launching its revolutionary Eliminator Vortex300 filter in November 2017, Sentinel’s products are now installed in one third of all social housing properties across the UK.

Designed in response to increased customer demand for superior heating system support, Sentinel’s Vortex300 filter has been independently verified to collect more magnetic debris on a continuous pass than any other compact filter on the market, whilst being the company’s most robust, and easy to install and service filter to date.

The filter’s superior performance is thanks to its one-of-a-kind Vortex Core and powerful neodymium magnet assembly. Inside, circulating water flows around an axis to reduce water flow rate and turbulence, improving magnet separation, increasing retention, and enabling non-magnetic debris to fall out of flow.

Recent studies from AMA Research have shown that spending on repairs and maintenance within the social housing sector is expected to experience a drop, falling by around two percent from 2017 to 2019. This has led to an increase in the specification of preventative action products, with the filter playing a key role in this.

Gregg Cole, commercial director at Sentinel said: “The design of the Vortex300 filter is based on extensive research with our customers, who reported leaks and installation and servicing space to be the biggest issues they face with other filter brands. Our design counteracts these issues and Sentinel has presented a proven solution to the market.

“The research and development was worth it. Our sales results from just the first six months show that there was certainly a need for the Vortex300, particularly within the social housing sector. With less and less budget being invested in the maintenance and repair of social housing developments, procurement managers are looking at ways to ensure the longevity of products and services they specify. We’ve continued to advance our heating system filter products over the years and our customers are starting to add the reassurance of a filter with their chemical water treatment. The recent sales results show that the Vortex300 has proven its worth within the sector. The work our amazing team have put in hasn’t gone unnoticed and we’ve rewarded team members that specialise in the social housing sector with prizes such as an iPhone X and team events.”

Supporting the sales within the social housing sector, the Vortex300 has also experienced strong over the counter sales with in its first six months. Customer feedback has praised its build quality, leak-free design, compact size and easy handling.

The filter is widely available for purchase at merchants across the UK and will be on sale at PHEX with an exclusive show discount.
