Schiedel Chimney Systems is celebrating its 45th anniversary this year.
The chimney manufacturer sells more than 500km of system chimneys, connecting flue pipes and chimney liners in the UK each year and has annual European sales in excess of €200 million.
Established in 1968, it has maintained its presence as a leading British manufacturer through its continued commitment to product development and rigorous quality standards. In addition, it is now also the UK's only chimney manufacturer with its own HETAS accredited training centre.
The company started life as Rite Vent Ltd, when it was founded by John Garrod. It went onto become one of the largest chimney manufacturers in Europe and in 1996 it was sold to Granville Venture Capital in a multi-million pound deal. Following a management buyout in 2003, a year later the company was purchased by Schiedel and became Schiedel Chimney Systems Ltd.
Schiedel Chimney Systems is BS EN ISO9001 listed and all products are manufactured, tested and approved to the relevant UK and European EN1856-1 and EN1856-2 Chimney Standards. It employs more than 100 people at its three sites in the UK and Northern Ireland.
CEO, Michael Ball, said the company's aim is: 'To strengthen our leading position through the innovation and application of technology, combining with our unrivalled experience and expertise in the field to give added value to customers.'
