REHAU is hosting the first of its regional ground source workshops at Salford Quays on Wednesday 18 May.
The event is targeted at all those involved in the ground source sector from heat pump manufacturers and drilling contractors to consulting engineers and architects. It will include presentations from leading figures on issues such as radial drilling, deep ground source systems for GSHPs and storing excess heat in the ground for borehole recharging.
There will also be practical sessions offering advice on the optimisation and efficient use of ground source heat and best practice in sizing loops.
Steve Richmond, business team leader for REHAU's Renewable Energy division, said: 'As well as the presentations, we anticipate that the event will provide a useful forum for all those involved in the industry to discuss technical issues and forthcoming interesting applications.'
As well as Steve Richmond and Ralf Winterling, the technical director at REHAU, speakers will include Dr James Dickinson from Buro Happold, Dr Christopher Wood from the University of Nottingham and Billie Turner from Tracto-Technik UK.
• The event will be held at The Lowry Centre in Salford Quays from 9am to 1.30pm and will include refreshments and a buffet lunch. Attendance is free but places should be booked in advance (contact
