PTS gets a business development director

Plumbing and heating supplier PTS is expanding its management team with the appointment of Mick Magon as its business development director.
PTS gets a business development director
PTS (Plumbing Trade Supplies) has more then 20,000 customers in the domestic heating and plumbing market and is part of the BSS group.

The BSS group's business is the sales, marketing and distribution of heating, plumbing, pipeline, tools, industrial supplies and mechanical services equipment in the UK.

Mick enters the role following 23 years working for different divisions of the group.

In addition to exploring new initiatives and business opportunities, Mick will be responsible for developing PTS' focus on spares and renewables.

Mick reports directly to PTS managing director, Alan Ball.

Alan said: 'Mick has worked within the BSS group since 1983 and so knows our business extremely well. With knowledge of PTS both at management and branch level, Mick was the ideal candidate to expand our business and dedicate attention to areas such as promotions and marketing.'

Last April, the Leicester-based BSS group expanded its portfolio with the purchase of Buck & Hickman, a supplier of tools and other products for the industrial maintenance repair and overhaul sectors.

The group turns over in excess of £1 billion a year, operates through 350 trading branches and employs over 4,600 people.
