Meiny Prins, the general manager of Dutch firm Priva, has received a businesswoman of the year award at The Hague.
The prize is officially known as the Prix Veuve Clicquot 2009 and was given to the GM on March 23, in recognition of her leadership of the firm which supplies BMS products to commercial and residential building sectors in seventy countries, including the UK.
Priva celebrates its 50th anniversary this year and is based in De Lier in south Holland. Its head office, (a base for 300 workers) is an example of Priva’s climate solutions in practice -by maximising productivity with climate control solutions that use minimal natural resources such as energy and water.
Meiny Prins is the second generation of the Prins family to run the business. In her acceptance speech, Meiny Prins stressed the importance of entrepreneurship, sustainability, innovation, technology and family-run businesses.
More than 400 employees in seven countries work on delivering BMS solutions for the building and horticultural sectors.
