Powerminster praised in housing inspection
[firstParagraph]
Powerminster Gleeson Services, the gas repairs and maintenance partner for Incommunities housing group, has been commended for its gas repair and servicing programme.
It follows an audit commission inspection of Incommunities, the largest social landlord in the Bradford.
In its December 2009 inspection report, the audit commission highlighted that performance in undertaking gas servicing was high adding that 'strengths significantly outweigh weaknesses in this area (gas safety)'. It also emphasised the strong focus on ensuring all tenants receive their annual gas service safety check with current performance standing at 99.6% of all homes.
The inspection also revealed that gas safety checks were well advertised and tenants were given flexible appointment times to improve access to their homes.
It is nine months since Powerminster Gleeson Services had its contract renewed with Incommunities for a further four years.
The contract was awarded through the Northern Housing Consortium Framework, for which Powerminster Gleeson Services is an approved supplier, after meeting all of its rigorous criteria.
The contract involves providing gas servicing and maintenance for 18,500 Incommunities' homes in Bradford. This includes providing an annual scheduled service to every household and a 24/7 emergency response service.
