Polypipe Terrain has been named Manufacturer of the Year at the 2010 Building Awards in recognition of successes achieved in recent months.
Judged on innovation, commitment to sustainability and contribution to the industry, the awards ceremony at London's Grosvenor House hotel on April 22, recognised firms in the UK construction industry.

In the case of Polypipe Terrain, one judge said: 'Polypipe is truly passionate about its product and it has a great story to tell about a British firm that landed some big contracts.'

'We pride ourselves on being the UK's leading manufacturer of plastic piping systems for above-ground drainage and water supply,' said sales and marketing director Adam Turk. 'As a business we have invested heavily in expanding our UK manufacturing facilities,' he added.

The company's commitment to sustainability has led to it being the only plastic piping systems manufacturer to reduce its carbon emissions enough to receive the Carbon Trust Standard. This is awarded only to organisations which prove their ability to measure, manage and reduce their carbon emissions.
