Polypipe buys Silavent Ventilation

Polypipe has acquired the goodwill and assets of the Silavent group.
With headquarters in Sandhurst, Berkshire, Silavent is an independent manufacturer of domestic ventilation systems in the UK.

The purchase is aimed at strengthening Polypipe's position in the UK ventilation systems market.

'This acquisition significantly widens Polypipe's offering in the ventilation market alongside our Domus brand and develops new business channels,' said David Hall, CEO of Polypipe.

'Silavent is a well-established and well-regarded brand and we feel that under Polypipe's ownership we can grow the business.'

'The changing sustainability agenda and consequent changes to Building Regulations are putting greater and greater emphasis on the need to provide cost-effective, sustainable ventilation solutions and transforming the way developers and specifiers achieve these requirements,' he added. 'Polypipe intends to be at the centre of this trend, providing solutions both in the private and social housing sectors to achieve these emerging environmental standards.'

Polypipe said the Silavent sales team with its knowledge of the product range and customer base will be used to move the brand forward.

Carbon reductions for northern arena

This arena regularly hosts large events such as concerts, conferences, theatre plays, exhibitions, live music and other conventions – so the site must have an energy efficient and carbon-reducing hot water system to achieve NetZero.
