Panasonic enlists help from students

Panasonic has recruited two university placement students to support the company's heating and cooling sector.

Katherine Lawrance joins the HVAC department as the new technical sales and marketing assistant, while Pabel Sulman is the new technical support assistant.

Joining straight from the University of Portsmouth, Katherine Lawrance's role contributes towards her marketing degree. Her job will include corresponding with Panasonic distributors, following up sales leads, assisting with company literature, as well as aiding the recruitment of the following year's placement student. Pabel, from the same university, has joined the technical support team during the placement year of his electronic engineering course.

'Now more than ever it is important to have on-the-job experience in order to maximise your potential employability,' explains Marc Diaz, Panasonic's UK country manager. 'Taking on two placement students, Panasonic aims to demonstrate the importance of investing for our future industry leaders, as well as providing the students with invaluable experience working in a large-scale company.'
