OFTEC elects Daly as chairman

John Daly is the new chairman of the Oil Firing Technical Association (OFTEC) and his experience of the Irish market will be used to strengthen the trade body's profile in Ireland.

John's career in the oil heating industry includes managing Kingspan's environmental business units in Ireland as well as England.

A spokesman for OFTEC said 'Building on John's experience of the Irish market, OFTEC is looking to increase it's presence in Ireland where oil is the dominant fuel used for heating and cooking.

'There are also considerable environmental issues facing the industry, such as the need for lower emissions, the search for a viable liquid bio-fuel, and the need to embrace compatible renewable technologies'.
