Martyn Bridges, director of marketing and technical support at Worcester, Bosch Group, has been appointed as the new chairman of the Oil Firing Technical Association (OFTEC).
Effective from 25 April, the appointment is for a two-year term.

Mr Bridges has been involved with a number of OFTEC committees since it was launched in 1991 and brings a wealth of expertise from the oil heating sector, as the association continues to enhance the provision of technical advice and information on oil fired heating and cooking.

OFTEC aims to promote excellence and comprises the majority of companies operating within the oil heating and cooking industry, of which leading boiler manufacturer, Worcester, Bosch Group has been a key part since the organisation's launch.

Having started at Worcester as a technical services engineer in 1986, Mr Bridges worked in a number of roles and departments before taking up his current position as director of marketing and technical support, which he has held since 2005. He is responsible for training, marketing, engineering services, product management and standards departments and is also involved in a number of Bosch-wide design and product committees.
