Nuaire has won the Go-Green environmental award at the Institute of Welsh Affairs Business Awards.
In a ceremony held at Cardiff City Hall, Nuaire was recognised for its wide-ranging and ongoing environmental strategy, including its significant reductions in waste and energy use and the increased efficiency of its plant.

Now in their second year, the awards, sponsored by PwC, showcase the best of Welsh business recognising their successes and achievements. The judges were particularly impressed with Nuaire's commitment to carbon and waste reduction at its plant.

Various measures have been implemented to address the company's green agenda, including the upgrade of its boiler systems, the introduction of daylight and motion sensor lighting and the installation of timers into the plant's own ventilation system.

In addition, during the last 12 months Nuaire has successfully achieved an 18% reduction in waste to landfill, recycled 93% of the 988 tonnes of waste produced and introduced smart metering to identify and remedy energy hotspots.
