Nuaire retains Carbon Trust Standard

Nuaire has been awarded the Carbon Trust Standard for a further two years.
Nuaire retains Carbon Trust Standard
Nuaire, who specialise in commercial and domestic energy efficient ventilation systems, was the first ventilation manufacturer in the UK ever to be awarded the standard back in 2010. Retaining the accreditation recognises the company's continued commitment to improving its environmental credentials.

The Carbon Trust Standard is an award granted to organisations which provide evidence of measuring, monitoring and reducing their carbon footprint in line with stringent criteria from the Carbon Trust.

In order to keep the award, Nuaire was required to demonstrate continued affirmative action to reduce the direct impact of climate change and in particular a focus on long term strategies for change.

Nuaire's environmental manager Mark Bird said: 'To have retained the Carbon Trust Standard again is a clear acknowledgement that Nuaire is committed to reducing the direct impact of climate change and that, as a business, it is taking measures to lessen the impact on the environment that occurs at each stage of the supply chain.'

Having worked in partnership with the Carbon Trust for the past six years to reduce the environmental impact of its operations, Nuaire has committed to undergoing regular environmental audits. The business has demonstrated that it is committed to achieving the highest possible standards to target CO2 reduction and is prepared to continually set new objectives for sustainability.

The renewed accreditation adds to Nuaire's list of environmental achievements including the Green Dragon Level 5 as well as ISO14001 accreditation. The business has also continually set targets to reduce its energy usage by 2.5 per cent each year.

Mr Bird continued: 'This is another important milestone for Nuaire and one which allows us to demonstrate our sustainable carbon reduction objectives, and indeed achievements. Moving forward we will continue to explore ways in which we can remain as energy efficient as possible in our operations, at every stage of the manufacturing and supply chain.'
