NICEIC TechTalk dates timetabled

NICEIC has set 2009/10 dates for its popular TechTalks and is welcoming non-members as well as members to get expert advice about the 17th Edition of wiring regulations and its impact on installations.
The TechTalk presentation subjects include new amendments and additions to the 17th Edition of the wiring regulations, will answer questions submitted by contractors and respond to technical issues linked to geographical areas.

'This is a great opportunity for contractors to get face to face expert advice,' said Alan Wells from the NICEIC group, the electrical contracting industry's independent voluntary regulatory body for UK electrical installation safety matters.

He added:'Technical experts from NICEIC will be on hand to answer questions and there will be plenty of NICEIC products available at discounted prices. This year we are welcoming non-NICEIC contractors to come along and find out more about NICEIC registration, including discounts and free scheme transfers.'

Carbon reductions for northern arena

Rinnai hot water systems are projected to produce ‘significant’ carbon reductions at a huge indoor arena in the North of England. The company has produced a designed system based on its R290 high-temperature heat pump. This arena regularly hosts large events such as concerts, conferences, theatre plays, exhibitions, live music and other conventions – so the site must have an energy efficient and carbon-reducing hot water system to achieve NetZero.
