NIBE looks to boost renewables take-up

NIBE is extending its cashback initiative until 31 March 2014, in line with the Government's recently extended Renewable Heat Incentive Premium Payment (RHPP) scheme, with the aim of encouraging the uptake of domestic renewables.
The NIBE initiative targets people looking to benefit from the RHPP scheme and provides additional money-off vouchers to use across its renewables portfolio. This includes air source and ground source heat pump packages, biomass boilers and solar thermal collectors, with discounts of up to £300 available.

Managing director, Phil Hurley, said: 'Ahead of the rollout of the domestic RHI, financial incentives like the RHPP will continue to play an important role in terms of encouraging increased investment in renewables. As a leading manufacturer, we want to do all we can to support both the government and homeowners in their efforts to switch over to more sustainable heating systems...'

He added: 'However, if we are to meet official carbon reduction targets, it is also vital that the industry works together with the government to ensure that the delay to the RHI doesn't signal a delay in uptake of renewable heating solutions.'
