Renewable heating specialist NIBE is celebrating its tenth anniversary.
Since it first set up as a UK company in 2006, NIBE has grown from a one-person business to a major player in the renewable heating sector, employing 30 people at its Chesterfield headquarters. The company is also operating training facilities at four sites across the UK.
Managing director Phil Hurley says: “In the last ten years, we have grown from being a small subsidiary of Swedish-based NIBE Climate Solutions Business Area to a well-known, respected UK brand. Demand for heat pumps in particular has risen considerably in the last decade, with sales up 2000% compared to 2006, and we at NIBE are proud to have been at the forefront of that growth.
“Whilst the market has undoubtedly had its ups and downs, one thing that has remained constant during the last decade is NIBE’s commitment to renewable heating in the UK. We’re proud to have been heavily involved in driving forward several policy changes that have helped the industry flourish and maintain high standards of quality – such as the development of MIS 3005 guidelines for MCS-accredited heat pump installations.”
He continued: “What’s more, the government has confirmed its ongoing support for the RHI for at least the next five years, pledging a significant £1.15 billion in annual funding by 2020/21. This means demand for renewable heating solutions is only set to continue growing for the next decade – and well into the future. We at NIBE look forward to being at the heart of this.”
The outlook is bright for the manufacturer, which has seen a strong start to 2016 with the appointment of Robin Adderley as its new sales and marketing director, and an enhanced national distribution network, making its range even more widely available.
