Titon has launched a BPEC certified ventilation training course based at its new training centre in Haverhill.
The course which Titon say is the only one of its kind in the East of England is for anyone installing and maintaining whole house ventilation systems in order to reduce the need for remedial work which is currently a common problem for those contractors new to the technology.
The two day course, held at the new Titon Ventilation Centre, has been developed with the aim of providing electricians, plumbers, heating engineers and ventilation engineers with the knowledge and skills to correctly install and commission domestic ventilation systems. It is structured to meet the requirements of the Approved Document Part F (Ventilation) of the Building Regulations 2010 and is recognised as a demonstration of competence for Competent Person Schemes (CPS).
The course and handbook covers installation, inspection commissioning and handover of the four common ventilation systems defined in Part F, which includes intermittent fans, passive stacks, mechanical ventilation and mechanical ventilation with heat recovery systems. It will also provide an understanding of all the legal issues surrounding the installation of these systems and guidance on completion and submission of all the appropriate notifications.
