New managing director for Polypipe Building Products

Polypipe Building Products, the manufacturer of above and below ground drainage and plastic plumbing, and low carbon heating solutions, has appointed Steve Currier as its new managing director.

Polypipe Building Products' new MD Steve Currier

Currier moves to the Doncaster production centre from his previous role as Vice President and General Manager for the Life Safety Division and Director of Strategic Transformation at Eaton Corporation, a global power management company.

Currier also joins Genuit Group plc, Polypipe Building Products’ parent company, as Divisional Managing Director, Residential Systems.

On his appointment, Steve said: “I’m very much looking forward to joining Polypipe Building Products and Genuit Group. The energy and ambition projected by the team, coupled with a strong heritage and market leading brands, point to an exciting future.”

In his new role, Steve will be focused on developing and growing Genuit Group’s Residential Systems business, ensuring Polypipe Building Products leading brands and innovative solutions are at the forefront of creating a more sustainable built environment, meeting the needs of customers and ultimately the people who live and work in the buildings the brands’ help create.

Bringing a wealth of experience to the role, Steve started his career as a graduate engineer with GKN plc, quickly progressing into senior operations roles. From GKN, he joined Field Packaging as General Manager before moving to join Cooper Lighting and Safety, part of the Eaton Corporation.

Steve replaces the previous managing director Steve Heeley, who stepped down from his role at Polypipe Building Products to pursue other opportunities outside of Genuit Group.
