New IMS for Hotchkiss

Hotchkiss has introduced an Integrated Management System (IMS) to combine its framework for quality, environment, and health and safety.
New IMS for Hotchkiss
By combining the three disciplines of quality, environment and health and safety in the new IMS, Hotchkiss aims to streamline its business operation to save time and improve performance.

The managing director, together with the quality, environment and health and safety (QEHS) co-ordinator and other company managers together rewrote Hotchkiss' manual and procedures, to better suit the needs of the business.

Gary Nash, health & safety adviser, said: 'Having an IMS system enables continuity across all aspects of the business ensuring health and safety is effectively built in and not just bolted on.'

Gill Pawson, QEHS co-ordinator, added: 'This is the culmination of an objective raised three years ago and is the result of top management and staff buy-in, teamwork and a lot of hard work.'

Hotchkiss md George Humphreys, said: 'At Hotchkiss we strive to meet our clients' needs and in the near future I believe clients will require all major trade contractors to have a well-established Integrated Management System. I am pleased that we have achieved this standard ahead of most competitors in our sector.'

Hotchkiss adapted the company manual and procedures to attain ISO 14001 Environmental Management System in 2008, and last year Hotchkiss achieved the latest certification, ISO 9001 Quality Management. In addition Hotchkiss recently achieved OHSAS 18001, and was awarded the RoSPA Order of Distinction, in recognition of 17 years of excellence in health and safety at work.
