New AM88 fan convector takes control of fresh air

The AM88 fan convector from Dunham Bush uses a fresh air spigot to ensure pre-heated fresh air is introduced to the space at the appropriate volumes, irrespective of weather conditions.

The same facility is also available for use with Avant-garde fan convectors, optimised for use with condensing boilers, and the recently launched LST range of low surface temperature fan convectors.

Use of a fresh air spigot eliminates the problems associated with passive fresh air supply, which can be influenced by temperature and atmospheric pressure. The system can also be linked to carbon dioxide sensors to control fresh air supply in relation to occupancy levels, thus saving energy when occupancy levels are low.

In addition, these fan convectors can be used for 'night cooling' of buildings, introducing cool air at night to reduce the temperature of the building fabric.

Heating is supplied by either a hot water coil or single phase electric heating coil and AM88 models are available with single or dual fan speeds. Models are available for floor, wall and ceiling mounting, in a range of finishes and casing lengths to suit all applications. Grilles can be supplied secured to the casing or supplied as an accessory for internal use.

Avant-garde fan convectors have been specially designed for use with condensing boilers, operating with lower flow and return temperatures (55°C flow, 35°C return at peak loads) to maximize energy savings through condensing.

LST versions of the AM fan convector feature modified output from the heating coil and a 4-port diverting valve to isolate the coil in stand-by mode, ensuring that surface temperatures do not exceed 43°C. As such, they provide total compliance with Health Guidance Note ''Safe' hot water and surface temperatures', NHS Estates1998.
