Mark Group welcomes launch of Domestic RHI

John Major, renewable heating expert at Mark Group, has welcomed the Government's launch of the Domestic Renewable Heat incentive (RHI).
He said: 'Many home owners are still sceptical when it comes to energy saving measures in their home, but the RHI will help people who do not have access to mains gas to move from a reliance on expensive fuels such as oil, LPG and direct electric to renewables.

'The RHI encourages good system design and product selection which in turn will benefit homeowners by creating systems that are more efficient. All of this means that the cost of the technology will be adequately covered by the payments received.'

A 2013 Energy Savings Trust report on air source heat pumps shows that in the right conditions renewable technology can be highly effective and provide significant cost savings against oil, LPG and electricity. In one instance in the trial it also showed savings against natural gas.
