Expert industry speakers will draw on real-life examples from CHP and communal heating schemes to show delegates how to take a more intelligent, informed and compliant approach to heat network design, development, implementation and operation. 

The seminar is aimed at those with an interest in energy efficiency, affordable warmth and block management, including property managers, leasehold and sustainability specialists, consultants, architects, building contractors and mechanical and electrical engineers.

Delegates will discover how to:

• Monitor and manage the effectiveness of CHP and communal heating systems
• Plan and deliver an affordable energy strategy 
• Solve common CHP problems, such as overheating in communal areas
• Achieve heat network compliance, including proposed heat network regulation, following new recommendations from the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA)
• Use data to understand the behaviours and energy usage of residents of district heating schemes

The event is being hosted by The Housing Forum and community heating specialist Switch2 Energy, with guest speakers from consultants Martin Arnold Associates and legal experts Trowers and Hamlin.

Shelagh Grant, chief executive of The Housing Forum, will welcome guests to the event at the Housing Forum's London headquarters. She will provide an overview of current industry issues and energy insights. 

A presentation by Ian Allan, head of research and development for community and district heating specialist, Switch2 Energy, will explain how to use data insights from smart metering, CHP units and building energy management systems, to improve efficiency and deliver a transparent, more affordable service to residents. 

Jim Martin of Martin Arnold Associates will discuss the practical and technical challenges of heat network development and construction, while Chris Paul, partner within Trowers and Hamlin international law firm, will explain the latest regulatory and compliance issues affecting heat networks, including recent proposals by the CMA.

All of the speakers will take part in a panel session, including questions and answers from delegates. 

The seminar will include a networking lunch and will take place at The Housing Forum, London EC3R 7AA on Friday June 15 from 10am-1pm.
