Mr Ovenden’s chief role will be in supporting LCL centres across the country, but he will also be involved in developing qualifications, writing assessments and working as a technical reviewer.
Mr Ovenden has considerable practical experience, having developed and run his own training centre, Domestic Gas Services, in Great Yarmouth. Alongside a background in delivering and assessing domestic NG, LPG and oil, he holds many non-domestic heating and catering certificate and a range of associated qualifications.
Mr Ovenden used LCL as a certification body while running Domestic Gas Services, and more recently training as one of LCL’s EVs. He qualified in early 2018 and later that year became an associate EV with responsibility for 20 LCL centres across the country.
Mark Krull, director for LCL, said: “We’re delighted that Neill has joined the LCL team. He has the qualities we need to help our centres across the UK, including a good understanding of what it is like to deliver training. As a certification body, the number of providers we support and the qualifications we offer is growing year on year; new members of the team that can hit the ground running are vital to our success.”
