New systems will speed ductwork installation and boost efficiency
The launch of new Lindab Smart Tools introduces a whole family of products designed to cuts costs and boost efficiency and safety in the ductwork industry.
They are the first ever tools and accessories to be purpose designed for measuring, cutting and handling circular ductwork on site. Together they can make the operative's lfe easier - and safer - while also making an invaluable contribution to a better ductwork system.
With designer and contractors under pressure to achieve lower and lower energy systems, demand for more tightly sealed ductwork has risen sharply. By helping to achieve greater accuracy, Lindab Smart Tools can play an important role in reducing air leakage.

Working Partner
The SR Cutter was designed as a working partner for the new self-locking Lindab Safe Click system which dramatically reduces the need for special tools, screws or rivets when connecting circular ductwork and fittings.
Lindab Safe is much quicker to install than conventional taped and sealed system. A recent test programme conducted by BSRIA showed Safe cut installation time in half and cost 20% less when compared to the traditional approach!
Crucial savings in air leakage were just as significant. At a static duct pressure of 500 Pa the air leakage rate from the Lindab Safe ductwork was 43.8% of that from the system constructed with traditional components.
Up to 3 metres long
The Lindab SR Cutter is designed to cut spiral ductwork up to 0.9mm thick, in diameters from 80 to 315mm and lengths up to 3 metres. It can be used for all types of spiral ducting within the dimensional limitations - including, of course, Lindab Safe products.
The simple, but highly effective, mechanism ensures a precise, clean cut every time. Noise from cutting is reduced and no sparks are created; the SR Cutter will make a significant contribution to on site safety and efficiency.
Fully portable, the Lindab SR Cutter can be brought into operation in a new location in just a few minutes. Once the legs are unfolded, the machine is automatically set up at the ideal working height.
Perfect complement
Handling and cutting larger diameter circular ductwork has been notoriously difficult - until now! The new Lindab SR Rollers make a perfect complement to the SR Cutter. Purpose designed to simplify the marking and cutting of larger circular ductwork from 315-1250 mm in diameter, the SR Roller cradles provide a means of holding and rotating the duct sections, ensuring easy marking and safe, accurate cutting.

The amount of clear floor area required is greatly reduced and raising the ductwork section slightly clear of the ground makes it much easier to connect ductwork fittings and to slip on flat bar flanges.
Where larger diameter section of ductork have to me moved around the work place Lindab Smart Carrying Handles will come into their own. Connected in just seconds they give operatives the safe, sure grip they need to move ducts with ease - and with no risk of cutting their legs and hands!
Larger sections can also be handled easily - and safely - with the new Lindab TRO trolley. This purpose designed lightweight trolley makes it simple for a single operative to move larger ducts,big bends and heavy items such as attenuators. The soft, puncture-proof tyres ensure easy passage over even semi-rough ground.
For multiple lengths of smaller size ducting, the Lindab trolley can be fitted with snap on sidebars complete with extension handle for easy steering.
Lindab's innovative range of Smart Tools also includes a combination tool for measuring and marking ductwork for accruate cutting, a duct cover for protection in bad weather during transport or storage and an Offset Calculator. The latter will be a vital to every ductwork operatives toolbag, because it offers a simple guide to cutting ducts to the required length relative to the angle of bends and the offset required. Less measuring is needed to achieve a 'right first time' waste free cut.
