JLA Group acquires William Whitfield

JLA Group has acquired William Whitfield Limited, a firm which specialises in commercial heating across Scotland and North England.

Established in 1993 and based in Scotland, William Whitfield provides customers with high quality service from installation and maintenance to rapid response and emergency repairs on commercial heating systems. From its head office in Bellshill, Glasgow, it employs over 40 people, including 25 field-based engineers and apprentices.

JLA is a leading critical service solutions provider and works across the commercial laundry, catering, heating and fire safety industries. The Group has thousands of customers across a diverse set of sectors including care homes, healthcare, hotels, social housing and schools and provides commercial heating equipment through an all-inclusive package – Total Care.

Total Care offers customers high quality, energy-efficient commercial heating equipment alongside breakdown cover for a monthly payment with no up-front cost. It is already proving popular with new and existing customers alike, giving them complete peace of mind through four-hour response times, 24/7 service, a unique guarantee to never leave the customer without heating or hot water, annual gas safety checks and fully inclusive breakdown cover.

Following a successful entry into commercial heating last year, this acquisition supports JLA’s ambitious growth plans for their Heating division. Graham Latta, business development director, said: “The acquisition of William Whitfield enables us to build on our existing knowledge of the heating sector and bring on more customers. It is the first heating acquisition for JLA, with more to come to facilitate rapid growth in the division. ”

William Whitfield will continue to be led by the existing management team. David Clark, managing director at William Whitfield stated: “We were a service partner to JLA, and we are now really excited by the opportunity that working more closely with JLA Group will offer. We will be able to combine our experience with JLA’s best-in-class sales and marketing resources to work together to grow the division as well as continuing to deliver great service.”

Mr Latta added: “We are thrilled to welcome the William Whitfield team to the JLA Group. Their fast engineer response, excellent service delivery and industry knowledge will help to strengthen the offering for all our customers and we look forward to working with them as we grow the Heating division.”
