JCB enters heating market

For the first time ever, construction and materials giant JCB has stepped into the heating market by adding a Dimplex fan heater to its portfolio.
JCB enters heating market
Dimplex announced today (December 19) it had become JCB's exclusive licensee for heating products, having developed a fan heater especially for the global construction firm in JCB's iconic safety yellow and black livery.

The first JCB product, a robust portable fan heater was considered a good choice to launch first with the onslaught of winter fuelling demand for warmth in the workplace, whether it be on construction site or a draughty garage.

The fan heater is the first of many JCB products to be made available at Argos Extra, Focus and Makro stores throughout the UK.

Matthew Conrad, director and general manager of JCB consumer products, said: 'At JCB we want licensees who demonstrate not only innovation but also a thorough and detailed approach in everything they do from product design to safety and we have very exacting criteria which must be met.'

'Dimplex not only met the high standards but also impressed us with their product development procedures and both our companies share a commitment to the importance of product design and brand values. This makes our partnership a perfect match,' he said.

Nick Paul, marketing manager for space heating products at Dimplex, said: 'With its well established brand values, we believe JCB allows us to take portable heating to a new audience. We hope this is the first of many JCB heating products and look forward to a long and successful relationship.'
