J S Wright has won a contract worth around £4.5m to design, build and install the mechanical services for a flagship regeneration project in London.
The company will work with main contractor Hill Partnerships on the 12-month project to fit out Zenith House in Barnet for Genesis Housing Group.
The 16-storey, high-rise residential tower is being built with five to seven storey blocks around a central square along with some peripheral mews properties to create 309 homes. The flats and houses, 44 per cent of which will be affordable housing, will be supplemented with shopping space, a restaurant and offices.
J S Wright will be helping the £47million development to achieve an Eco-Homes rating of Very Good by incorporating a wide range of environmental features.
It will be installing a low-carbon CHP (combined heat and power) and gas central plant heating system to serve heat interface units in each apartment. In addition, it will be fitting eco-friendly mechanical ventilation heat recovery systems, as well as hot and cold water services and soil and waste water services.
The extensive brief also includes supplying and installing sanitary ware and boosted cold water services for pumping upwards for distribution.
Zenith House, which also benefits from vertical axis wind turbines, green roofs and solar heating, is due to be completed in winter 2013.
