ISH sets course for the future

ISH, the world’s leading trade fair for the combination of water and energy, is set to benefit from a new exhibition hall and a new layout in the Energy section.

Wolfgang Marzin, president and chief executive of Messe Frankfurt, stated: “We will be better placed to meet long-standing requests from our customers thanks to the construction of the new Hall 12 in the western section of Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre. This gives us the chance to integrate new themes, for which there was previously little room, in an innovative way. With the restructuring in the ISH Energy section, we are drawing on the expertise of our partners to further develop the fair, to provide orientation in times of growing inter-linkage and to be extremely well placed for the future. ISH will have room to grow and can consolidate its position as the world’s leading trade fair for the sector.”

From ISH 2019, the heating industry will be located in Halls 11 and 12, where it will present the latest heating technologies, from efficient heat production to heat transfer. ISH Energy will be enlarged through the new infrastructure and cover new themes in the future. Andreas Lücke, general director of the Federation of the German Heating Industry, commented: “With the new hall layout, ISH Energy 2019 will focus on heating systems that combine a high degree of efficiency with the greater use of renewable energies. This also includes new themes such as generating electricity via photo-voltaic systems for use in the home, in combination with a heat pump, a thermal or battery storage facility and a central digital energy manager.”

Manufacturers of highly efficient pumps and other components for central-heating systems, such as expansion vessels, fittings, connectors and stations, will be brought together under the heading ‘heat distribution’ in Halls 9.0 and 9.1. Exhibitors showing individual fireplaces will remain in Hall 9.2 and demonstrate their latest products in live operation there.

Another expanding segment, refrigeration, air-conditioning and ventilation technology, will be concentrated in Hall 8. At the same time, the foundations will be laid for the further development of building-related refrigeration technology because an important part of ISH is intelligent building technology – in both the private residential and commercial sectors. Günther Mertz, managing director of the Association of Air Conditioning and Ventilation in Buildings, explained: “Refrigeration technology is becoming one of the most important aspects of building-services equipment. And this calls for inter-disciplinary, integrated planning and implementation processes. The joint presentation of expertise in the fields of refrigeration, air-conditioning and ventilation technology in harmony with innovative building automation at ISH represents a vital contribution to this.”

House and building automation, energy management, measurement and control technology and testing equipment remain in Halls 10.2 and 10.3 and, therefore, in the heart of ISH Energy because this segment links all subdivisions.

In addition to the construction of the new Hall 12, Hall 6 will be modernised and will not be available for ISH 2019. Therefore, the World of Installation Technology moves to Halls 5.0 and 5.1; the tools and fastening and fixing material segments will be brought together in Hall 4.2. The exhibitors of The Bathroom Experience, who have been located in Hall 4.2 up to now, will move to Hall 1, which is being used for the first time at ISH. Additionally, Hall 1.2 will be home to International Sourcing, a new theme that will debut at ISH in 2019.
