Imtech scores Euro 2012 stadium order
[firstParagraph]
Imtech has secured an 18 million Euro technology order for Euro 2012 football stadiums.
Imtech secured the order to provide technology solutions in one of the stadiums that will host the UEFA Euro 2012 football championships in Poland.
Imtech has been commissioned to supply all the technical solutions in the new stadium scheduled for construction in Wroclaw, Poland. Imtech will be responsible for the energy supply, climate control, heating, ventilation, sanitary and fire safety systems, the complete power supply (high, medium and low voltage), all electrical solutions, high-tech process control technology and the complete ICT infrastructure. The new order is worth approximately 18 million Euro.
René van der Bruggen, CEO Imtech: 'The power of the Imtech proposition - total technical solutions through the combination of electrical solutions, ICT and mechanical solutions - and our strong position in Poland have resulted in some major orders for the UEFA Euro 2012 Football Championships. Imtech will now be responsible for the technical solutions in the three most important Euro 2012 stadiums. In addition, Imtech is also providing the sustainable technology in the Olympic Stadium now being built in London. Gradually Imtech is developing into a leading technology partner for stadiums and arenas throughout Europe.'
The original plan to renovate the former Olympic Stadium in Wroclaw was replaced by a decision to create a new stadium with a seating capacity of almost 44,000. The stadium will play host to Euro 2012 group matches.
Imtech had previously been commissioned to provide the climate technology in the Polish National Stadium in Warsaw, which will be a principal venue for Euro 2012 and will host the opening match, two group matches, a quarter-final and a semi-final. Imtech is also providing the climate technology, including energy solutions, for the PGE Baltic Arena, which will host four matches during Euro 2012.
Imtech is also responsible for the climate technology in the new sustainable Olympic Stadium for the 2012 Olympic Games in London (seating capacity: 80,000)
Imtech is the only European technical services provider simultaneously working on five major stadiums in Europe. With 23,000 employees, Imtech achieves annual revenue of more then 4.3 billion Euro.
