Ideal celebrates one million Logic boilers

Ideal Boilers is celebrating the manufacture of the millionth boiler in its award-winning Logic range, which rolled off the production line yesterday (13 October).

The millionth Logic boiler is being donated to the Mercia Therapy Centre in Coventry, which provides therapies to people with Multiple Sclerosis and other long term conditions.

Ideal’s Head of Marketing, Carrie Young said: “We’re delighted to be able to donate the boiler to independent charity, the Mercia Therapy Centre, based in Coventry. The Centre Administrator got in touch with us to seek our help with funding a replacement for an old, inefficient and expensive system. However, we wanted to give our millionth boiler a special home while helping out an excellent cause.”

The Lord Mayor of Kingston upon Hull, Councillor Mary Glew (pictured with Idea's Doug Lloyd) was on hand at to help celebrate the occasion and met staff including longest serving employee Melvyn Simpson who joined Ideal on 3 April 1962 when he was 15 years old and has worked for the company for 52 years.

Ideal Boilers has been keeping British homes warm for over 100 years and has built up a comprehensive range of reliable quality products, designed with the installer and homeowner in mind.

Today the company remains at the forefront of the domestic and commercial heating markets, largely through the development and manufacture of innovative products such as the Logic range which was launched in 2009.

In 2013 Ideal’s Logic and Logic+ boilers were awarded a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation and Reader Recommended status in Good Housekeeping magazine. 2014 has seen Ideal receive more accolades, with the Logic+ winning Product of the Year in the Household Boiler category, Manufacturer of the Year at the Phoenix Natural Gas Industry Awards in Belfast and joint honours in the national category of the ‘Made in Hull’ awards.
