Ideal Boilers gets behind the Big Energy Saving Week

Ideal Boilers is encouraging installers and homeowners to support the Big Energy Saving Week campaign.

The campaign, which was devised by the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC), the Energy Saving Trust and Citizens Advice takes place this week (26 – 30 October) and aims to help householders take practical steps to cut their energy bills by encouraging them to check they are on the best deal, to switch tariff or supplier and to save energy by taking control of their heating.

Research carried out by the University of Salford for the British Electrotechnical and Allied Manufacturers (BEAMA) controls group, shows that energy consumption by home heating systems can be reduced by up to 40% through the installation of a room thermostat and thermostatic radiator valves (TRVs), with installation costs recovered in around a year. Ideal Boilers manufactures a wide range of heating controls to work with all its boilers.

The campaign also highlights other ways for homeowners to save money on their heating bills with great tips including the best ways to insulate a house, the most efficient way to use a heating system and little tricks to reduce heat loss, such as drawing curtains when it gets dark.

Head of marketing at Ideal, Carrie Young said: “We offer our customers a wide range of energy saving solutions, from our advanced controls to our A rated boilers” she added, “We even have how to videos on our YouTube channel to show householders useful energy saving tips like how to bleed radiators, and infographics with great tips that homeowners can use to reduce their energy bills.”
