Ideal and Gledhill team up for charity

Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People will receive a donation of £4,400 after a team from Ideal Boilers and Gledhill Cylinders conquered an epic endurance challenge.

The 35-strong team of men and women took part in the Men's Health Survival of the Fittest event at the National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham to raise the money.

The hard-core physical challenge involved tunnelling, climbing, running and canoeing across a 12-mile assault course of mud and water.

Carrie Young, head of marketing at Ideal Boilers, commented: “We really enjoyed our day and completing all of the obstacles; especially the water based ones. It was a great bonding experiencing for us all and we are so pleased to be able to raise money for such a worthwhile cause.”

Rainbows is a hospice for children and young people with life-limiting and terminal conditions, supporting both them and their families. From carers to counsellors, medical professionals to palliative care specialists, it’s the people that are at the heart of Rainbows.

Through its outreach efforts into paediatric oncology units, Rainbows is also caring for a growing number of children with cancer.

Ideal and Gledhill are both part of Groupe Atlantic UK & ROI, which decided to support Rainbows last year. Staff donate time and services, as well as supporting fund-raising events.

So far this year, the business has raised £10,000 in total for Rainbows.
