Thomas Thomson from Cochran Ltd has become the winner of the first ever ICOM Apprentice of the Year award.
Mr Thomson, a fitter, beat off strong competition from runner up Ross Cowley, an engineering apprentice from Bosch Thermotechnology Ltd and Michael Rose, a manufacturing apprentice from Powrmatic.
The winners were announced at the ICOM annual luncheon, which took place on the 5th June at the RAF Club, London and was witnessed by over 100 industry professionals.
ICOM director Ross Anderson said: “Congratulations to Thomas, and the two runners up, Ross and Michael. They did extremely well as the quality of entrants for this year’s award was exceptionally high. All three candidates demonstrated excellence and outstanding achievement in their own companies and I am delighted that the industry recognised them.”
The winning apprentice received a trophy, a certificate and a gift voucher.
