HVCA gets member support for convergence

The creation of a single organisation to represent M&E contractors, in the form of convergence, would be 'beneficial' say 81% of the HVCA members who responded to a consultation survey.
This figure is equal to 20% of the HVCA membership and emerged following a survey by research firm Metra Martech.

Having secured backing from members, the HVCA Council is supporting the convergence of the HVCA and the Electrical Contractors' Association into a single organisation to represent M&E contractors.

Members of both the HVCA and ECA were urged to support the creation of one organisation. They were also asked to support the formation of a group which would consider members' views and produce a model for the single organisation which the ECA and HVCA memberships could be further consulted on.

In total 84% of respondents support the formation of a joint ECA/HVCA convergence group.

The results of the ECA survey will be announced at that organisation's council on April 23.
