Hiltons gets £5m hospital contract

Nottingham building services firm Hiltons has been appointed by Skanska to carry out m&e work at a hospital after securing a £5 million pound contract.
Skanska is responsible for the design and construction of the Manor hospital in Walsall, whilst Hiltons will undertake the installation of mechanical facilities including the heating and cooling systems.

The £170m scheme, which includes a new diagnostic and treatment centre and training facilities, is due to be completed in May 2011.

Mark Harvey, a director at Hiltons said:'We have a strong working relationship with Skanska and this is the third hospital project we have worked on with them, following on from Derby Acute Hospital and Kings Treatment Centre”.

Carbon reductions for northern arena

The company has produced a designed system based on its R290 high-temperature heat pump. This arena regularly hosts large events such as concerts, conferences, theatre plays, exhibitions, live music and other conventions – so the site must have an energy efficient and carbon-reducing hot water system to achieve NetZero.
