Heinz Trox dies at the age of 81

Heinz Trox, the majority shareholder of TROX GmbH, died on 1 October 2015, aged 81.

Heinz Trox was born on 29 June 1934. After completing a mechanical engineering course and an economics course at Munich University, he started his professional career as an engineer in the USA. In 1959 he joined TROX GmbH in Neukirchen-Vluyn, where he was responsible for international business. From 1969 onwards, and then a member of the board, he oversaw international business, product management, and research and development. He became chairman of the Board of Management in 1988, and left it for the Supervisory Board of TROX GmbH in 2001. He became chairman in 2012.

For his lifetime achievement as an entrepreneur, Heinz Trox was honoured with the Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The company’s staff are mourning his passing of a true ‘citizen of the world’, who had his feet firmly on the ground. He was an old school entrepreneur, in the best sense of the word, who was committed to his employees and to society.
