Health and safety guides released for on-site training

The HVCA has created a health and safety specialist pack for small businesses.
The SME Safety Pack contains advice on setting out and maintaining general and site health and safety responsibilities. The pack contains industry related risk assessments, accident reporting, accident investigation, and other assessment and checklist templates in open Word and PDF formats.

The pack also contains five Safety Facts booklets and the new Toolbox Talks, with 45 key topic titles produced in an A5 laminated card format to make them site-friendly. The booklets are designed to assist with new employee induction and further site-specific training to help with demonstrating good practice and health and safety compliance.

Russell Mott, HVCA technical and safety officer, said: 'We noticed there was an increasing demand from small companies for information about basic health and safety. We have put together relevant, HVCA Publications documents in one handy pack to help small businesses fulfil their legal obligations towards health and safety. The pack will also help HVCA members to satisfy their inspection and assessment requirements.'

• The SME Safety Pack is £120 for HVCA members and £240 for non-members. For more information, please contact HVCA Publications on 01768 860405 or visit www.hvcapublications.co.uk
