Haier sponsors GB Olympic hockey ace

Haier has agreed a sponsorship deal with Great Britain Olympic hockey player Zach Wallace.

Great Britain Olympic hockey player Zach Wallace

Zach, 21, has more than 50 international caps and is viewed as one of our most promising young hockey players. He is all set to represent Great Britain in the Olympic Games taking place in Japan next month.

Zach is delighted that he will receive financial backing from Haier at such an important time in his career. “It will make a huge difference,” he explained. “Hockey players aren’t like professional footballers – we do not enjoy a luxury lifestyle. Having this support from Haier will allow me to go out and train properly and focus on my game. We are a young, quick team and have every chance of doing well at the Olympics.”

Attacking midfielder Zach is a full-time hockey player who will also move to the HGC club in the Netherlands to play his hockey in the toughest league in Europe. He sees himself as a creative performer on the hockey field and says Great Britain’s superb team spirit will be its X-factor when it comes to taking on fancied teams like Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands at the Olympics.

Haier HVAC Solutions European General Manager Bob Cowlard said: “Haier is delighted to sponsor Zach who is one of this country’s most talented young hockey players. Hockey is an exciting sport and Zach has the potential to be one of our finest players. We wish him and his fellow GB team mates all the best as they go for Olympic gold. Zach is one of a number of young sports stars that we are supporting on the international stage all of whom represent the healthy lifestyle that is at the heart of Haier’s product ranges.”
