Greenworks to hold ErP seminar in July

Greenworks Training Academy is helping installers get to grips with the latest phase of the Energy Related Products Directive (ErP) and is holding a seminar on 22 July for people to find out more about the next phase of the Directive, which comes into force in September.

Installers will be told which heating products will be affected and what manufacturers have been doing to prepare for these latest regulatory changes.

The Directive was first introduced in 2009 by the European Union in a bid to reduce carbon emissions. The latest phase defines the minimum levels of efficiency for appliances with up to 400KW output, including CO2 emissions and noise levels. As a result, installers will only be able to purchase and install ErP related products that make the electrical or heating system more energy efficient.

Greenworks will be offering help and information to installers so that they will be competent in implementing this and be able to talk to customers with confidence about energy labelling.

Operations and marketing director at Greenworks, Marcus Jefford, said: “This is a really good way for installers to find out more about the ErP Directive, which comes into force on 26 September.

“Installers will have to take responsibility and research the legally acceptable products they can install and offer advice on these products. Therefore, this seminar is a great way to ensure that they have all of the information they need.”

The course, which is supported by Ideal, Kingspan and Honeywell, is free to attend. To book a place call 0121 328 9150 or email info@greenworks.co.uk
