Graham Manly becomes HVCA's new president

Graham Manly has been elected president of the Heating and Ventilating Contractors' Association for 2009/10.

Manly succeeded to the presidency of the HVCA at the association's AGM on July 23.

Manly has replaced the retiring former HVCA president Gareth Vaughan of E Poppleton & Son based in Colwyn Bay.

At the AGM , Martin Burton of H W Sladden Commercial , based in Canterbury, became HVCA president elect and Bob Shelley of Oxford-based firm Sharp & Howse was elected vice president.

Graham Manly was managing director of A G Manly & Co from 1982 to 2000 and is currently business development manager with Gratte Brothers.

The new HVCA president, a chartered engineer, served as chairman of the Building Services Research and Information Association (BSRIA) in 1991/93 and as CIBSE president in 2004/05. He has also been an HVCA-nominated director of SummitSkills, sector skills council for building services engineering, since its formation in 2003.
