Uwe Glock has taken up his new post as president of Bosch Thermotechnik, a leading heating and hot water solutions supplier in Europe.
Glock succeeds Dr. Joachim Berner, who is retiring and has been in the post since October 1, 2003. During his time in the post, Berner helped merge the heating technology divisions of Bosch and Buderus.
Since 2001, Glock has been head of Bosch Security Systems. In 2007, the Security Systems division achieved sales of 1.4 billion euro.
Glock began his career at Robert Bosch GmbH in 1984. In 1995, Glock moved to the security systems product division of Bosch Telecom GmbH in Ottobrunn, Germany where he became director of the whole division.
Glock said “You could call me a home-grown Bosch product, so I’m familiar with the company’s spirit, style and ethos, and I’m looking forward to the new tasks in the thermotechnology division.”
BoschThermotechnik is the market leader in the growing market for electric heat pumps, and is a leading manufacturer of solar collectors for hot-water generation.
In fiscal 2007, the company generated sales of EUR 2.8 billion (69% outside Germany) and employed 13,100 people.
