Gas 2019 is being held November 12 at the Jaguar Experience, Birmingham.
With a Climate Emergency declared and a binding commitment by the government to achieve zero net carbon emissions by 2050, decarbonisation of both our gas and electricity networks is crucial.
About 20 per cent of UK CO2 emissions come from how people use heat and hot water at home. These emissions must be effectively eliminated by 2050 to meet carbon targets. The biggest challenge in decarbonising heat is that many of the solutions proposed will require changes at a domestic level. Thus, this will likely be a key topic discussed at the event.
Confirmed speakers include:
- James Kerr, senior policy researcher, Citizens Advice
- Carl Arntzen, chief executive officer, Bosch Thermotechnology
- Chris Clarke, energy strategy director, Wales & West Utilities
- Mark Belmega, director of customer strategy, Cadent
Tickets to the event also include a manufacturing tour of Jaguar to discover how the manufacturing operations have developed from building Spitfire aeroplanes in the 1940s, to iconic Jaguar vehicles.
