Fgasman answers industry questions

Questions posed by contractors will be answered by HRP experts at www.fgasman.co.uk

Since fgasman.co.uk was launched by HRP in December 2014, the website has proved popular with contractors.

Around 2,500 have registered their details to be able to purchase F-gases legally.  Over 100 visits a day have been recorded and a wide range of questions posed for F-Gasman.

The answers have helped contractors to understand the details of the individual and company registrations required to purchase refrigerants and the training needed to gain registration. To support this, HRP has provided additional training courses in the C&G 2079 and CITB J11 qualifications required for registration.

Other questions have related to transport refrigeration, leak checking and purchase of pre-charged systems. Documents placed on the site include the letters of assurance required by those who believe they do not need F-Gas registration.

In addition, questions are arising about systems using R22 now that recharging with recovered gas is no longer allowed.

HRP managing director Mandy Pilgrim is pleased with the initial reaction to the site. “It is clear that there is a need for straightforward information. We are glad to be able help contractors stay on right side of the law and to make sure that the essential environmental regulations are met by the UK industry.”
