FairHeat appoints principal engineer

Heat network engineering consultancy, FairHeat, has welcomed Mike Ridge to its growing team as principal engineer.

Mr Ridge is the latest of a number of new recruits to join FairHeat, which specialises in enabling developers and operators of heat networks to maximise their performance, generate efficiencies and deliver low cost heat for residents. He is responsible for FairHeat’s New Build project support services, ensuring the optimum design, installation and commissioning processes are delivered for their client’s heat network projects.  

Mr Ridge joins FairHeat from E.ON Community Energy, where he was head of design and responsible for a team of engineers delivering concept to construction designs for large-scale district heating schemes across E.ON’s portfolio. 

He said: “I’m passionate about sustainability and believe heat networks are uniquely placed to provide a long-lasting solution for the UK’s heat market to be supplied by new, low carbon and sustainable technologies. 

“FairHeat is an inspiring company that is dedicated to improving all aspects of heat networks and I’m delighted to be part of such an energetic and cutting edge team. It’s exciting to be playing a part in helping heat networks become a leading contributor to a healthier energy market.”
