How should businesses of all sizes be addressing energy efficiency and instigating energy management systems and mindsets? All-Energy 2013 is the UK's largest renewable energy exhibition and aims to answer this through its Business Energy Efficiency Zone.
The show will be held at the AECC in Aberdeen, from 22-23 May. A two day-long Business Energy Efficiency seminar programme and two 90-minute double conference sessions will look at energy efficiency policy, action, funding and micro-and onsite generation.
All elements of All-Energy - the major exhibition, the world-class conference, the seminar sessions and the Giant Networking Evening - are free to attend for all with a business/ professional interest in renewable and sustainable energy and in energy efficiency.
John McMenemy, energy efficiency policy manager, energy efficiency and low carbon economy, The Scottish Government, will launch the All-Energy energy efficiency conference sessions on Wednesday 22 May. Other speakers include: Ann McKenzie, head of domestic energy efficiency, The Scottish Government ; Iain Gulland, director, Zero Waste Scotland; Lawrence Slade, chief operating officer of Energy UK; and Al-Karim Govindji, technology acceleration manager, Innovation.
In the second conference session on the same afternoon, Chris Stubbs, energy practice leader at ABB, will look at 'Breaking Down Barriers to Sustainable Energy Reductions', and Jamie Mehmood, senior director, sustainable energy finance, RBS, will talk about 'Financing Energy Efficiency'.
Following 'Microgeneration a Rapidly Changing Scene: An Overview' by Colin McNaught, managing consultant, Ricardo-AEA, there will be quick fire updates on technology: Small Wind (David Sharman, Ampair); Heat Pumps (David Pearson, director of innovation, Star Refrigeration); Fuel Cell Micro CHP (Jon Cape, iPower); and Solar (Ray Noble, pv specialist at the Solar Trade Association).
The Business Energy Efficiency Seminar Theatre, sponsored by ABB, is within the Business Energy Efficiency Zone in the exhibition and will feature presentations on: Infrared building thermography- seeing energy loss, cutting carbon costs; The role of energy efficiency in business; Lucrative commercial secrets revealed; Valorising excess renewables through hydrogen; Improving industrial energy efficiency using the Heliex wet steam screw expander; Low carbon transport - where are we now and where are we heading; Electricity generation from waste heat; Energy efficiency in buildings, intelligent building control; Smart services from SSE - free energy efficiency advice; The use of residual heat to preheat combustion-air for thermal oil systems with a capacity starting from 300kW; Efficiency and reliability improvement in connection with Hydro Generator Service; and a panel discussion, led by GreenEnergyNet, to help businesses save energy and money.
